Additional Questions:
Who is at fault if we go to another election?
52% Netanyahu, 21% Lieberman, 19% Lapid, 8% Gantz
It’s telling that Gantz is the only leader actually trying to govern for all Israelis by meeting with all the party leaders and asking for their support. Netanyahu only governs for himself.
Wrong Gantz is trying to govern with out Bibi, that is the only common cause of the B&W and leftist block. I would worry, to do that he would have to enter into alliances that are detrimental to the state and don’t reflect its majority.
Judah, you are dreaming. There is no realistic way that Gantz can form a government without the Likud. Do you really think that Lieberman would sit in a government supported by the Arabs? The struggle here is whether or not the Chareidi parties and Smotrich/Peretz are included in the coalition. Gantz and Lieberman say no. Bibi says yes. Until that argument is resolved, we have no possible coalition
Martin, we refer to Ryan’s point , “Gantz is the only leader actually trying to govern for all Israelis” thats not true ,
as you yourself pointed out “The struggle here is whether or not the Chareidi parties and Smotrich/Peretz are included in the coalition. Gantz and Lieberman say no”
So then Gantz is not trying to to govern for all Israelis, and that’s my point.
By the way considering that Sephardim make up more than 50% , what is the Sephardi MK representation without Shas. That question is worth pondering
Shas like any party represents who votes for them, in this case therefore 7.44% of the Israeli voters in the last election, not more than 50% who can be represented by other parties
B&W are made up of at 3 parties so what’s your point split the % there. I used Shas as an example, and by the way in respect of Shas I disagree with you, Shas is a flagship for Sephardim in the Kenesset irrespective of how many % they received. You have very little understanding of the mizrahi electorate.
B&W run a join list in the election and they are still together, so they represent 25.95% of voters. About Shas they represent who vote them (7.44%, so a minority of mizrachim). If you are Mizrachi and you vote Likud, or B&W, etc, Shas dont represent you, but Likud, B&W, etc. In the same way Joint List dont represent arabs who vote for Likud or Avoda, o Liberman russians who vote for Bibi (even if they can be flagship of certain group)
Michael, you really don’t get it, an authoritative poll showed that fully 1/3rd of Likud voters have Shas as their 2nd choice, as I said you totally don’t understand the Mizrahim and that can be the only reason you repeat a pedantic mantra. I suggest you better concentrate on the problems caused by the arch anti religious Lapid .
“According to a report by Kan Bet, during a meeting of Blue and White lawmakers Monday night, a majority of MKs from both the Israel Resilience and Telem factions within Blue and White endorsed the formation of a unity government on the basis of Rivlin’s compromise plan.
Most lawmakers from the Yesh Atid faction, however, rejected the plan in favor of the formation of a unity government which would rely on the support of the predominantly Arab Joint List party.”
If true, the despicable nature of LAPID is exposed for all to see.
It is extremely clear that the problem here is the unified block of Yaalon, Lapid, and Ganz. If they were separate they would be able to join a coalition without each other and then we would have a government…
Totally agree, Neither Yaalon or Ganz can be described as left
They also have absolutely no reason to be together… only to topple BiBi. But that could have been done if they weren’t together as well…
