The Central Elections Commission released a statement on Wednesday stipulating that in the 90 days before elections all pollsters must send their findings and all the details regarding their surveys to the committee before publishing their results
Pollsters who do not follow the guidelines set by the laws governing the elections process will face up to six months in prison or a significant fine.
Among the required data pollsters have to send for review: the name of the body that commissioned the poll, the organization that conducted the poll, the poll date, the population from which the sample was taken, the sampling method, the number of participants, and the margin of error.
