Midgam conducted a poll of 500 people with a margin of error of 4.5% that was published by NRG on Jan 3 2015
Has Shas finished its job or does it still have what left to do?
52% Finished, 29% Still has what to do, 19% Don’t know
Among Sephardim: 45% Finished, 41% Still has what to do, 14% Don’t know
What has been Shas’s contribution for Sephardim?
30% Positive, 28% Negative, 22% Don’t know, 20% No influence
Among Sephardim: 37% Positive, 25% No influence, 20% Negative, 18% Don’t know
Hmm interesting, every one is interested in Shas.
Has it ever occurred that the same question be asked of UTJ?
No, it appears that the Sephardim are not allowed to have a religious party.
Racisim of sorts, blatently, R Ovadia knew it, exerienced it , and fought it.
Despite the disgraceful infighting, I think he has created a constituent that did not exist before, whose core base is comparable in size and loyalty with UTJ. The issue for Shas is how much of the soft additional 1/3 or so of its voters who are now flirting with other parties it can pull back.
