Does Bayit Yehudi candidates’ opposition to same sex marriage change your opinion?
56% No change, 29% Less of a chance I vote for them (14% of BY voter), 15% Increase chance I vote for them.
Bayit Yehudi has 12 in the current government, not 11. Shas has 11, not 10. If you want to say that it’s 10 because Eli Yishai left, that’s fine, but then why does Yishai’s party show it has 2 seats in the current government, when it should show 0, or if you take one away from Shas, then 1?
As I clearly state I use the stat of current seats (not seats from 2013 election).
Yishai Party currently has 2 MKs – 1 from Shas & 1 from Bayit Yehudi.
Technically, Bayit Yehudi did not lose a seat when Chetboun left, nor did Yishai gain one. A party would need to lose 1/3 of their seats to actually change their makeup. Rather, Jewish Home can replace Chetboun with another person from their slate (just like Shas replaced Deri with Lior Edri from their slate). Chetboun resigned from Jewish home, he didn’t take a seat to Yishai.
The number of current seats is determined by the number of MKs in the faction.
In terms of party funding Bayit Yehudi has 12 units and Shas has 11 units.
MK Yishai or MK Chetboun are prohibited from attending the Faction Meetings of the party they were elected to and their information has been removed from their party websites.
If Chetboun or Yishai resign their Knesset seats I will be able to give Shas & Bayit Yehudi their seats back :-).
