Interesting, though there are those debating between Jewish Home and Likud.
Do you know why the Founders chose proportional representation and not a hybrid system or constituencies? Given how much Israeli government was based on Westminster, one would think that carries over. Additionally, have you ever examined what might happen if Israel were to switch to a 60-60 or totally constituency system?
A system based on Westminster (constituencies) would produce a less democratic result. Parties like Kulonu, Meretz, Yisroel Beitunu would be wiped out. Only the Charedim and the religious would benefit.
