I seem to have missed this one. Could you tell me what “New Likud” means?
Also, I’m wonder if you could explain what the issue is where Netanyahu said he would get rid of any minister who voted for the Chok Hahesder; isn’t this automatic for any minsterr who votes agaisnt the governemnt? And would this affect the unofficial ministers of UTJ?
It is a scenario poll in case Bibi breaks off from Likud or kicks people out.
This isn’t a no-confidence vote, so it isn’t an automatic resignation. Prime Minister needs to fire whoever votes against his position, same goes for UTJ and other deputy ministers.
I recall one of your postings, where a minster voted agaist the government position, and they pointed out that that was an automatic resignation, so he took it back. Am I wrong?
When a bill passes through the ministrial committee of legeslative affairs, yes you are right. Netanyahu prevented the bill from reaching the committee because it had a majority there. There wasn’t an official government opposition given to this bill. It was unofficial government opposition. That is why it wouldn’t be automatic and he would need to actively fire them.
Many, many thanks.

PM Netayahu is correct in warning the other members of the coalition. A test of wills is unfolding. This case has everything to do with what the prevailing philosophy should be for the Holy Land. I repeat…Judea and Samaria/The West Bank will be shared. The Palestinians are not going to kick the Jews out and the Jews are not going to kick all the Palestinians out. All the parties will have to fall under the divinely mandated plan for the region.
P.S. There is a glaring fault with the dominant government system in the West. Democracy ensures everyone is equal, so no one can give orders or criticise. A decent command structure breaks down.

I once heard Rabbi Waldman, the Rosh Yeshiva of Kiryat Arba, Chevron (and the only Rosh Yeshiva I had ever seen wearing a sweater). He had suggested that the entire idea of ruling someone else or a military heirarchy was inherently un-Jewish, which was why the kingship had to descend in such a strange manner and from the outside, from Ruth the Moabite.
