Monday, October 3rd, the Knesset plenum reopens after a 73-day recess that began on July 22. The Knesset’s plenum met just 36 times during the summer session. The upcoming winter session will be a long one. Prime Minister Netanyahu will attempt to pass another two-year budget. This task will prove challenging if Labor leaves the coalition following the end of the construction freeze, which would leave Bibi with a delicate 61-59 majority. Kadima’s repeated filibusters against the bi-annual budget will most likely keep them in the opposition, for now.
